(Washington, DC) Akridge, a comprehensive real estate services firm, and Mitsui Fudosan America
(MFA), celebrated the initiation of construction on the 168,000 square foot trophy-class office project at
1200 Seventeenth Street.
Speaking at the morning event were Mitsui Fudosan America’s CEO, Yukio Yoshida; Pillsbury Winthrop
Shaw Pittman’s Managing Partner, Christina Kearns; and Akridge’s Chairman, John E. (Chip) Akridge,
and Senior Vice President, P. Brian Connolly.

The site marks the future home of law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLC, the majority Client
that signed a lease for 105,000 square feet in January, 2013. The LEED Platinum-targeted building is
scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2014. With 63% of the building pre-leased, four floors of
the building totaling nearly 60,000 square feet remain available for lease.
The boutique, trophy-class office building will feature contemporary finishes with column-free Client
space, efficient floorplates, floor-to-ceiling glass, and state-of-the-art amenities including a full service
Client-only fitness center, a green roof with entertainment space, bike storage and changing facilities, and
ground floor retail.
Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects LLP is the project architect, and Balfour Beatty will serve as general
contractor.
